Q: How do I set the Mitel / Inter-Tel system date & time?

A: A system Administrator can manually reset the system time or date when it is necessary.For example, when the system is defaulted or for daylight-saving time.Any administrator can change the date and time that appears on all display phones and in the SMDR reports.The day of the week is automatically calculated and set by the system when the date is entered.

NOTE:If you make a mistake, press MUTE to backspace or press * or CANCEL to start over.

  1. While on hook, enter the Set Date / Time feature code (9800).Your display shows DATE (current date). If you do not need to change the date, press # or ACCEPT to skip to the TIME XX:XX prompt.
  2. Use the dial pad buttons to enter the month, day, and year.For example, press 020309 for February 3, 2009.When finished, the display shows TIME (current time).If you entered the date incorrectly, the display shows INVALID DATE, and you are prompted to enter a new date. If you do not need to change the time, press # or ACCEPT twice to exit.The display shows SYSTEM DATE AND TIME UPDATED.
  3. Use the dial pad buttons to enter the time in hours and minutes.For example, enter 0900 for 9:00. If you entered the time incorrectly, the display shows INVALID TIME and you are prompted to enter a new time.
  4. If the system is set for 12-hour display format, the display shows SELECT AM OR PM (AM=1 PM=2).Press 1 (or the AM menu button) for AM or press 2 (or the PM menu button) for PM.The display shows SYSTEM DATE AND TIME UPDATED.If you press any button other then 1 or 2, the display shows INVALID TIME and you are prompted to enter a new time.

Q: How do I program a name on the Mitel / Inter-Tel telephone?

A: NOTE: Programming changes need to be performed at the administrative telephone (usually a large display phone)

When programming from a Large display telephone, each time an option is entered the screen changes to the next prompt.

  1. Press ADMINISTRATIVE FEATURES button next to the display
  2. Press PROGRAM DATABASE button next to the display
  3. Press STATION button next to the display
  4. Enter the STATION NUMBER you wish to change the name on
  5. You will see circuit ID, press ACCEPT
  6. Press STATION INFO
  7. Press USERNAME
  8. Enter name from the dial pad.(MUTE allows you to back up and erase FWD allows you to do double letter and spaces)
  9. Press ACCEPT
  10. USERNAME is now updated on the telephone station
  11. Display will show DATABASE UPDATED
  12. If you cancel or make a mistake the display will show NO UPDATE PERFORMED

Q: How do I swap extensions on my Mitel / Inter-Tel phones?

A: NOTE:You can only swap a digital telephone to a digital telephone and a single line (analog) to a single line

  1. Press ADMINISTRATIVE FEATURES button next to the display
  2. Press PROGRAM DATABASE button next to the display
  3. Press SYSTEM button next to the display
  4. Press STATION EXTENSION button next to the display
  5. Press SWAP EXTENSION button next to the display
  6. Enter the first EXTENSION to be swapped from the dial pad
  7. Press ACCEPT
  8. Press SWAP EXTENSION button next to the display
  9. Enter the second EXTENSION to be swapped from the dial pad
  10. Press ACCEPT
  11. EXTENSIONS have now been successfully SWAPPED
  12. Display will show DATABASE UPDATED
  13. If you cancel or make a mistake the display will show NO UPDATE PERFORMED

Q: How do I record greetings on the Mitel / Inter-Tel auto attendant?

A: Note: This can be done from any telephone

  1. Dial 299 from the dial pad
  2. Press the STAR **key TWICE
  3. Enter the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATIVE MAILBOX NUMBER
  4. Enter the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATIVE PASSWORD
  5. Press 9
  6. Press 3 (Custom Recordings)
  7. Press 1 (Change Custom Recording)
  8. Enter the RECORDING NUMBER (Day usually 001, Night usually 002)
  9. You will hear the current recording or be prompted to record a new greeting
  10. When finished recording, press the POUND #key
  11. Recording will be replay, erase and re-record if necessary
  12. Press the POUND # key to save

Q: How do I assign a new recording on my Mitel / Inter-Tel auto attendant?

  1. Dial 299 from the dial pad
  2. Press the STAR **key TWICE
  3. Enter the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATIVE MAILBOX NUMBER
  4. Enter the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATIVE PASSWORD
  5. Press 9
  6. Press 3
  7. Press 2 (Assign Custom Recording)
  8. Enter the APPLICATION NUMBER(Day usually 280, Night usually 290)
  9. Enter the RECORDING # you want to assign to the APPLICATION
  10. Press the POUND #key
  11. You will hear the new RECORDING ASSIGNED to play on the APPLICATION

Q: How do I reset a mailbox password on my Mitel / Inter-Tel voice mailbox ?

A: Note:Changes must be made through the system Administrative mailbox.

  1. Dial 275 or press the key labeled VMon the telephone.
  2. Press the STAR KEY (*).
  3. Enter the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR MAILBOX NUMBER
  4. Enter the PASSWORD, then press #
  5. You will hear hard disc is % full, press (9).
  6. Press (2), (mailbox and group list maintenance)
  7. Enter the mailbox number you need to change the password on.
  8. Listen to the prompts and choose the option for CHANGING THE PASSWORD
  9. Enter the new password.(The auto attendant will confirm the new password)
  10. Press # key to save
